Overview of the Trip
Motorcycle Tour through the Alps, Langhe and Provence – Departure from Italian Switzerland
Departing from Italian Switzerland, our motorcycle tour leads us through the breathtaking landscapes of the Alps, toward the beautiful Langhe region, known for its vineyards and culinary excellence. We begin our journey with a stop near the city of Cuneo, where a stay in a comfortable hotel and a traditional dinner will introduce us to the authentic local flavors.
After a hearty breakfast, we resume our ride, ready for an adventure that will take us through some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe. We head to Provence, crossing Alpine passes and the Maritime Alps, one of the most scenic areas in southern France.
Along the way, we travel through the Cians Gorges, one of the most fascinating natural wonders in the region. The winding, panoramic roads lead us to Castellane, where we stay in a welcoming accommodation, ready to explore the magnificent Verdon Gorges the next day.
Often called the “Grand Canyon of Europe,” this canyon is a must-see natural wonder that blends adventure, nature, and stunning views. If weather permits, we enjoy a relaxing picnic by Lac de Sainte-Croix, taking in the peaceful beauty of the surroundings.
The journey continues with the discovery of the Daluis Gorges, a hidden corner of Provence that is quieter yet equally captivating. These more intimate and wild canyons offer a serene atmosphere perfect for those seeking direct contact with untouched nature.
After experiencing these unique landscapes, we head back toward the Cuneo area, covering approximately 280 km to reach our base once more. Here, we unwind with another carefully prepared dinner before resting up for the ride home the next day.
The final leg of the tour takes us back to Italian Switzerland, crossing the gentle hills of the Langhe, vineyards, and the rocky mountains of the Maritime Alps. Every stage of the trip is filled with emotion, natural beauty, and culinary experiences, making this motorcycle tour a complete adventure.

From May to September: stable weather, great views and excellent roads. July–August is hotter and busier.
Some sections yes: narrow lanes, tight bends and rock walls close to the roadside. Perfect for riders who enjoy technical routes.
Fuel stations are not very frequent: starting with a full tank is recommended. Bars and restaurants are available in villages like Castellane, Annot, Entrevaux and around the lake.
